Success Story

Jennifer O’Connor ’06

Jennifer discovered her passion at FXW. Beginning in the third grade, she captured each and every day of her FXW experience on film, thanks to a video camera that she received as a gift.

“I was one of four children, all very close in age, so an FXW education would not have been possible without the support of my CATC scholarship,” she explains. While a student at FXW, Jennifer helped to found the Foundations Youth Ministry at Old St. Patrick’s Church. The group encourages teen volunteerism in and around Chicago and sponsors service trips to more distant locations such as hurricane-ravaged New Orleans. Jennifer chronicled these trips on film, creating professional-quality travelogues and inspiring other students through her leadership. Her passion for film continued through her high school years at The Francis Parker School, and at college at the University of Denver. “FXW was an incredible school. They helped me to find my passion and then allowed me to fully develop it,” she says.

The Children at the Crossroads Foundation (CATC) proudly presents a reimagining of our annual scholarship dinner on Friday, May 16, 2025 at The Langham in Chicago. For 35 years, net proceeds from the evening have supported financial assistance scholarships for families at The Frances Xavier Warde School, where students learn, grow, and thrive in a community that reflects the world around them.
